Motorola Wasn’t The Only One Thinking About Phone Customization; HTC and Sprint’s Plans Outlined
A lot of people have been discussing the Moto X and some of its finer points, with one of them being the MotoMaker and its ability for users to customize their devices. However, Motorola wasn’t the first company to try this out. The Verge has sources that reported that HTC and Sprint were going to team up and make a web app called the HTC Design Studio, which would basically work just like the MotoMaker and let a user customize their device however they want. However, they were not able to find a way to keep the cost of building something like this down, so they had to scrap this project. It’s interesting to find out these kind of things, and it sucks that HTC and Sprint couldn’t find a way to make it work.
