As an aspiring model and overall fan of the modeling scene in general, I see women every day that inspire me. I love to discover and learn more about models who are new to the scene and are looking to expand their career. One of the models I discovered recently is the lovely and sweet Mija Lou, who hails from Denmark. I got the opportunity to conduct an interview with her, so check it out below!

Technocove: Let’s talk about influences! When you first got interested in modeling, who were some of your early influences?

Mija: My early influences were the old Vargas paintings and the lovely dark haired beauties Bettie Page, Dita Von Teese and Bernie Dexter. I know it’s kind of typical, but as a model starting up these women are some very great models to get inspired by.

T: What kind of modeling do you like to do the most (pin-up, fetish, etc.)?

M: That’s actually a little hard to answer, since I love all the kinds I do. I’m not a good smiler to do typical pin-up, so I tend to mix up a little of everything.

T: If you could have your dream photo shoot, which other model would be in the photo-shoot with you and where would it take place?

M: My all-time favorite well known models are Dita and Mosh, so that would be freakin’ sweet to shoot with one of them. More lesser known models I very much adore and call my friends are Lily Black and Lauren Beth, and I would love to shoot with them as well. My dream photo shoot scenario would be something glamorous and a little dark and sexy, with something vintage.

T: I first discovered you when I saw a picture of you dressed up as Wednesday Addams from the Addams Family on Facebook. You also do a lot of horror themed shoots. What draws you towards that type of imagery?

M: Sweet! Well, I just love the horror genre. I love to dress up. I love to play a character instead of just standing there in front of the camera looking pretty. My pictures also seem to be better when I play some sort of a character, and it’s much more fun! I love the whole scenery one can do with horror, and there is so much you can do with it.

T: As a movie buff, I have to know, what is your favorite horror film?

M: The original “Night of the Living Dead” and “Carrie” are my favorites! I love them both much.

T: I always like to discover young models that are new to the scene. Are there any new models that you like or are impressed by?

M: Oh yes!! I’m so lucky to call some of them my friends, and I’m glad to have gotten to know them through this industry. Shout out to Lily Black, Lauren Beth and fellow Danes Dayne and Kaya Monica!

T: What do you like to do in your spare time when you’re not modeling?

M: As of right now I’m really busy with school and it’s hard to find time even to model. But to stress off I spend time with my family. I listen to music a lot and spend a lot of time discovering new music and expanding my knowledge. I also love to paint and be creative.

T: Do you have any upcoming photo shoots or projects that you are excited about?

M: I have no arranged shoots right now, but have a lot of ideas I’m excited about if I can make it happen. I’m always excited about modeling for companies and very proud of my work with Coco Loco Jewelry and Punk Up Bettie, who I will model more for in the future.

T: Do you have anything you want to say to all your fans?

M: A HUGE thank you for all the endless support! Y’all make me feel so special. Means the world that y’all would follow my journey. Thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart! <3 U GUYS! Keep following my journey, I promise a lot more good things to come!

Thanks goes out to Mija Lou for doing this awesome interview with me. She just finished up some Christmas and Valentine’s themed shoots, so be sure to keep an eye on her Facebook account for those pictures! Mija is a very lovely woman with a lot of talent, so don’t forget to check her out on all her social networks! (Official Facebook page) (Official Twitter page)
