WP8 SDK Bits: Nokia Maps will support 4 mapping views

It was revealed at the Windows Phone Dev Summit that Nokia Maps would be replacing Bing Maps in Windows Phone 8. More improvements are coming out about Nokia Maps which are new mapping views.

The four mapping views above are available to devs:

  • Road : displays the normal, default 2-D map.
  • Aerial : displays an aerial photographic map.
  • Hybrid : displays an aerial view of the map overlaid with roads and labels.
  • Terrain : displays physical relief images for displaying elevation and water features such as mountains and rivers.

Developers will also have access to load landmarks and render buildings in 3D and pedestrian features when using maps for walking or jogging.
